Which Canvas Is Better?

There is a lot of information on other websites about canvas quality. We won't go into the details except to say that double-fill canvas is superior. Our MAGNUM line is made from a 12oz double-fill canvas. Most other manufacturers use a 10.10oz double-fill canvas, either made in the USA (Sunforger) or imported. All 3 canvas types are treated for water and mildew resistance. Our 12oz double-fill canvas also comes standard with a fire retardant treatment.

We hired an independent lab to test the strength of these 3 canvas types using the ASTM D 5034 Grab Method, which tests the breaking strength in 2 directions (called warp and fill). 

The Bottom Line: Our 12oz double-fill canvas is at least 68% stronger than the 10.10oz Sunforger used by most manufacturers. Please see table below for actual test results:
